County Sheriff A woman from Richardson Street, Negley, reported Wednesday her neighbor damaged the chain link fence when his trailer became caught on the corner of the fence as he was pulling away. An official from New Day Recovery, Union Ridge Road, Middleton Township, called Thursday because they wanted a deputy to stand by until an ambulance arrived to transport a woman to Youngstown. This was after the woman pulled a fire alarm and otherwise had begun acting disruptive. A residential burglar alarm went off a home on Mick Road, Yellow Creek Township, at 3 p.m. Tuesday, but the home was found to be secure. There was a small dog in the window and it may have set off the alarm.
Highway Patrol Timothy C. Nagy, 56, of Beloit, was cited for failure to control after he went off the left side of the road, striking two mail boxes, flower pot and gas meter on the property on Viola Blanchard while driving on Georgetown Road in Knox Township at 9:47 p.m. Dec. 17. An abandoned motor vehicle was found overturned off state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 2:40 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle was registered to a Newell, W.Va., resident, so the trooper called the sheriff’s office there and learned by Jeffrey D. Powers, 37, of Newell, who is believed to be the driver, had just reported it stolen. West Virginia authorities charged him, and the patrol is also expected to file charges.
Woman from Holt injured in crash on Route CC
A woman from Holt was injured in a Friday afternoon crash on Route CC near Mick Road,
Fifty-two-year-old Lisa Nickerson was transported to North Kansas City Hospital by Holt EMS with minor injuries.
The patrol reports the crash happened at 3:00 pm Friday afternoon as Nickerson was eastbound on Route CC when her 2013 Honda Crosstour ran off the right side of the road, struck a ditch, went airborne, then landed striking another ditch and a fence.
The vehicle received moderate damage and Nickerson was wearing a seat belt.
