Blanket project provides roadside assistance Wednesday, December 30, 2020 12:20 PM
As part of her confirmation service project, Caylie Adam created blankets to give to the Winneshiek County Sheriff s Department and the Calmar Police Department. Caylie and family are members of Calmar Lutheran Church in Calmar.
The blankets will be given to individuals who break down on the side of the road or have an accident to help them stay warm until further help arrives, or simply to be given to people to brighten their day. Caylie’s family assisted her with the project. Her grandmother, Jan Pfiffner, wrote a grant through the Thrivent Action Team to help fund some of the fleece used to make the blankets. Other family members assisting Caylie were her mother, Bridget Adam, her brothers, Chance and Chase, and her grandparents Jim and Jan Pfiffner. Caylie’s father is the late Scott Adam of Calmar.
