■Attorney William Stringfellow and poet Anthony Towne have acknowledged they did “offer and give sustenance and lodging” to the Rev. Daniel Berrigan while he was being sought by federal authorities. Berrigan was convicted in April of destroying draft records and was arrested on Block Island in a house owned by Stringfellow and Towne. Stringfellow is a Northampton native.
■A fire destroyed one of the oldest houses in Huntington on Sunday night. The home, owned by Deane S. Clark of Springfield, was built in the 1800s and had recently been completely remodeled.
