Ecolibrium3 calls on Duluth households to apply for free energy-saving programs

Lower-income households can apply for extra services. Written By: News Tribune | × The Lincoln Park-based nonprofit Ecolibrium3 can help any Duluth household that is served by Minnesota Power and Comfort Systems reduce energy bills and connect people to energy service programs. Ecolibrium3 accepts applicants year-round, but those who apply for the energy service by March 31 will receive the highest priority, said Joe Bott, Ecolibrium3’s community energy coordinator and member of AmeriCorp s Volunteers in Service to America program. The energy services include a free home energy audit, energy-saving repairs, tips on how to reduce utility bills and where to get extra assistance. Lower-income households can apply for extra assistance that includes free weatherization and air-sealing services, Bott said.
