Presidency. He has spent the last few days threatening to imprison his political enemies. And being derided for just being plainly incoherent. Vice president Kamala Harris is a former prosecutor and u. S. Senator and attorney general. She has had lightning in a bottle. Running a short and highly energized campaign centered around supreme. We know the stakes could not be higher. Everybody says that in every version of a president ial race but this year we know deeply in our guts that that is true. Here now is the president ial debate. the bill does not modernize america s work force. just the opposite. it s designed to keep our farming practices primitive and dependent upon low wage manual labor. the bill which remark by has a total of 24 republican co-sponsors, would give amnesty to illegal grint farm workers in the united states, pretty much all of them. even illegal aliens convicted of crime would be eligible for permanent residency and citizenship. beneficiaries would not have to pay any back taxes. they qualify even if they skipped court hearings or snuck back after being deported. don t you try something like that as a u.s. citizen. congress will have no mercy but for foreign nationals, no problem. how many foreign nationals would benefit from this act if it became law? no one knows. the pro-am necessarity group farm worker justice estimates that at least 1.2 million legal immigrants would be eligible but if history is any guide and it is the actual number would be
we will diminish the prospects of our own children, because those brown kids will represent a larger and larger share of america s work force. [ cheers and applause ] and we have shown that our economy doesn t have to be a zero-sum game. last year, incomes rose for all races. all age groups. for men and for women. so if we re going to be serious about race going forward, we need to uphold laws against discrimination in hiring and in housing and in education and in the criminal justice system. and good cheer, isn t exactly totally welcoming donald trump with open arms. in fact, gavin newsom, the lieutenant governor, has already released an ad hammering trump s immigration policies. donald trump will be it s a perfect time to show you the truth behind his immigration ideas and how they ll hurt all of us. so what would mr. make america great again scheme do to our economy? well, we d lose half of our farm workers and 6% of america s work force. trump s plan would send our economy into a downturn worse than the great recession and cost our economy more than $1.6 trillion. trump s plan would be a disaster. and donald, i ll debate that plan any time, anywhere. newsom is also critical of trump s hair. he tweeted out this, quote, nothing against comb-overs, just racist comb-overs. newsom plans to run for governor
