He had a chance encounter with an armed suspect. In exchange of gunfire happens. We do not know why that exchange occurred at the officer was shot in the armpit just outside of where the bulletproof vest was covering. That officer is ok, recovering at the hospital. The suspect was taken into custody far away from there. We do not know how he got there. Far more questions than answers. A six hour police investigation.
