Alix steel is in the newsroom. The philly fed index. This came in below estimates coming in at 5. 2. Almost cut in half. It is also lower than read for january which came in at 6. 3. We have seen a pretty genetic two months in the philly fed index. The reason why this important is that they get new. The new orders at the index did come in light at about 5. 4. The slide is continuing, new orders. Weve seen more jobs and falling oil prices. Lets turn to the biggest corporate story of the day. Theres abuses and that they live on their starvation wages. Starting in april, workers will be able to dollars an hour. This will affect half an hour people. The company says that it will be raising wages. 10 an hour starting next february. It is moving this further increasing. It has pushed for higher wages. That has been working problem. Walmart saying that two and a half weeks, they will know what the schedules are. A moratorium threatens key health and safety regulations. During the 104th congress, the house passed the regulatory transition act of 1995, a bill that imposed a regulatory moratorium pending the institution of a risk analysis and assessment regime. The committee on government reform and oversight, democrats in their dissent to the reported bill, observed that the legislation was illconseeved that it had unknown consequences. In particular, they noted the bill ignores interests of the average american. There is no effort in this bill to sort out the good from the bad. s a onesizefitsall solution. It would halt regulations favored by businesses such as rules at the f. C. C. To allocate portions of spectrum for new telephone systems. Accordingly, i urge my colleagues to support this amendment that would strike the bills pernicious moratorium provision. And i will reserve. The chair the gentleman from georgia reserves. For what purpose does the gentleman from virginia seek recognition .
Whether or not they decide to sue me for doing my job. No, no, no. First of all, heres what i always say. Do not boo, vote. [applause] doing does not help. Voting helps. [applause] but think about this. They have announced that they are going to sue me for taking executive actions to help peop people. So you know, they are mad because im doing my job. And by the way, i told them, i said id be happy to do it with you. So they on the reason im doing it on my own is because you dont do anything. But if you want, lets work together. [applause] now i mean everybody recognizes this as a political stunt but its worse than that because every vote they are taking like that means a vote they are not taking to actually help you. When they have taken 50 votes to repeal the Affordable Care act, that was time that could have been spent working constructively to help you on some things. [applause] and by the way, you know who is paying for the suits that they are going to file . You. Now, now you are
Small firms. Perhaps most importantly i want to know how it determines not meet the full requirements of the act. Theres no doubt Small Businesses want to problem tent our environment and should in many regards be an ally of the epa. Not only are they leading the way when it comes to Environment Technologies but they can also help the epa craft regulations that promote clean air and water without overburdening the industry. It is my hope that todays hearing will help bridge the gap between the epa and the Small Business community. Resulting in a cleaner environment and a stronger economy. With that i thank the current administrator perciasepe for his participation today and i yield back the balance of my time. Thank you. Thank you. In 2009 the honorable Bob Perciasepe was appointed by president obama and confirmed by the senate to serve as the Environmental Protection agencys deputy administrator. For four decades he worked on Environmental Issues within and outside of the government.
Meet and exceed the goals laid out for virginia and the proposed Clean Power Plant through Energy Efficiency and the planet of Clean Energy Resources like solar power and wind power. If i stay offshore Wind Energy Area were to be fully developed, we can power over 700,000 homes just removing lloyd off the coast of virginia beach. We can build a future where eventually all of our energy comes from the wind that up the coast, from the sun shines on the rooftop every single day in making our homes and buildings so efficient that we with the solar people can cover the entire building and has more Energy Produced than we actually need to use. Thats the future of virginians deserve, but americans deserve and that is a future that the Clean Power Plant helps us make a step towards. Thank you very much for allowing a seriously today. Thank you or testimony. The next speaker is our congresswoman capito and william becker. On deck behind them are fred palmer and a feed name. Good morning. Shelle
