Move. Julian. A first step being the key to all of this right here, the San Francisco board of supervisors voted unanimously to apologize to black residents of the city of San Francisco for decades of discriminatory policies and systemic discrimination that amount to antiblack racism, an important first step with a complicated and long road ahead. We have much more work to do, but this apology most certainly is an important step, and one of the over 100 recommendations made by the African American reparations and advisory committee. The resolution is adopted unanimous. With that move, San Francisco joins a short list of major u. S. Cities and states that have taken the first steps to repair its black residents is a long overdue apology. We know that an apology without action rings hollow. Supervisor Shamann Walton wrote the legislation to create the African American Reparations Advisory Committee to develop recommendations for repairing harm done to the black community by the city gove
Macys says 150 of its stores will close over the next three years. 50 of them by the end of this year. The Union Square Location will not be part of the first 50 closures. Mayor london breed says macys is selling the property at union square and will remain open until after the sale or transition in. The mayor says the move has nothing to do with whats happening in downtown San Francisco. So weve had even this past Holiday Season between november 20th and the end of the year. Weve seen a significant decline in crime. And so we know this has nothing to do with that decision. Its really a larger business decision that macys has made. Macys says the closures are part of a shift in Business Strategy from large stores and malls to more boutique shops. Macys is the latest in a list of iconic union square in Downtown Retail stores to close, including nordstrom and the westfield mall. The mayor says the closure is disappointing, but shes hopeful for change. There are definitely possibilities h

Yield my time. You. Lets hear from the next caller, please. Hello caller, are you with us . Ladies and gentlemen of the board, good evening. I stand before you today to discuss a issue that effects each and every resident of our community. The state of our Public Transit system. As our cities grow, so does the need for reliable efficient and sustainable transit network. Lets talk about accessible. Currently many areas are under served by Public Transit forcing to rely on personal vehicles. This not exacerbates transferic but also limits opportunity for those who cannot afford a car. We must expand our bus and train routes to reach these areas and offer more frequent service, especially during peak hours. Secondly, affordability is a concern. High fares discourage from using Public Transit. I propose we explore options for subsidized fares for low income families, student, senior and most importantly immigrants. We need to purchase as many cattle cars a we can andback to home land to ru
