Conservation experts in Virginia´s capital have opened a time capsule found in the remnants of a pedestal that once held a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, finding dozens of artifacts.
Workers will continue to look for a famed 1887 time capsule containing a photo of Abraham Lincoln on his death bed, placed under a now-removed statue of Robert E. Lee in Richmond Virginia.

Preliminary work at the site in Richmond will got underway yesterday (pictured) and the plinth is expected to be completely removed by December 31, Governor Ralph Northam said in a statement.
