A mortgage lender based in New York state plans to expand its Charlotte operations and add 500 jobs.
Gov. Roy Cooper’s office announced Tuesday that Intercontinental Capital Group qualifies for up to $7.7 million in state tax incentives for the planned expansion. The city of Charlotte also offered incentives.
The company already has 180 employees in Charlotte s Montford area, off Park Road.
The average annual wage for new jobs is $87,500. That s more than Mecklenburg County s average wage of $68,070.
The 180 current employees will join the new hires at the new site. Intercontinental Capital Group expects to invest $5.8 million in the new offices. The new site will include a call center, information technology, sales and marketing, human resources and executive offices.
