Of a total 620 new COVID-19 cases reported in Massachusetts schools in the past week, Lawrence saw the largest number of student cases at 37, according to state data.
From May 6 to 12, new cases of the virus were reported among 572 students and 48 staff members who were inside a public school building in the seven days before testing positive, according to a weekly report from the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Overall, the percentage of COVID cases in public schools is 0.08% among students and 0.04% among staffers, according to the report.
