Next, we visit the National World War Ii Museum in new orleans to learn about the exhibit of fighting for the right fight African American experiences in world war ii. We are particularly proud of this exhibit, and artifacts therein. There are some fantastic stories which i will tell you about shortly. We crafted this special exhibit with the help of the National Advisory board. Well, if the fed were to raise rates too soon, senator, we would risk undermining a recovery that is really just taking hold. And is really succeeding, i think, in improving the labor market. As as i said, i dont think were back to attaining yet conditions id associate with maximum employment or normal labor market conditions. Things have improved notably. But were not there yet. And so we want to see a healthy recovery continue. In addition, as you mentioned, inflation is running well below our 2 objective and while we think a significant reason for that is because of transitory factors, most importantly the decline weve seen in energy prices, we are committed to our 2 objective. Just as we dont want to overshoot 2 on the high side, we dont want to chronically undershoot 2 on the low side either. So before raising rates, we will want to feel confident that the recovery will continue and that inflation is moving up over time. There are also, of course, risks of waiting too long to remo

What ive learned is you cant even have a conversation about that until people believe and know not just believe but its proven to them that futile Legal Immigration will be controlled. That is the single biggest lesson of the last two years. I think everybody in this room would agree with this. Whenever there is a budget deal made and they talk about tax increases and were going to have spending cuts. You get the tax increase on day one and then the spending cuts ten years later never happen. Yes. Isnt it the same thing with immigration . That was the strongest argument made against the bill, and its proven to be true because the president once, but not twice, has basically said by executive order i wont violate
