American Association of Nurse Practitioners appoints Jon Fanning as new CEO
Jon Fanning
The American Association of Nurse Practitioners announced this week it has selected Jon Fanning to be the new leader of the organization starting March 1, 2021.
Fanning joins AANP with a history of strategic and operational oversight experience. Since 2013, Fanning has been at the American Psychiatric Association where he served in various leadership roles including chief strategy officer, chief membership officer and interim chief financial officer. Fanning replaces David Hebert, who retired after serving as CEO for eight years. During his tenure, Hebert oversaw the merger between the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Nurse Practitioners which led to the formation of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
