An alarming study shows every hour a call is made to a Poison Control Center somewhere in the u. S. About a child thats been poisoned by laundry detergent pods. Linzie janis has the latest. Reporter they are advertised as a clever replacement for messy, heavy jugs. It cleans, brightens and removes stains. Reporter in just two years, 6,000 kids rushed to the emergency room, most after eating those detergent packets. More than 17,000 calls to poison control. We went out to see just how easy it is for kids to mistake the detergent for candy. If you saw this at home, would you try and eat it . And how about you . I tried it. Reporter zeland couldnt stop reaching for it. Researchers say kids who got sick were often around his age. Some ended up in comas. Nearly 100 put on ventilators. One child even died. Veterans Affairs Secretary mcdonald told the reporters the va is in the midst of restructuring. My va. Thats how we want veterans to view it. They know who to contact. He was stabbed. And the woman who lives here apparently she heard the disturbance going on. She went to see what was happening and then she was stabbed. Police say again this was not random. They took two suspects into custody, and one of those suspects, im told, had apparently recently been released from employment, and that was a motive theyre looking at, potentially here for this double stabbing. The two victims were told are 61 years old. Their injuries are considered serious and life threatening. The two suspects in this case are both in their 30s. So far they have not been named. And caught fire. The handrails line the steps at stations. Underunderneath the handrails lights are built in to light the steps in the dark. A couple of those handrail lights overheated and caught fire. No one was hurt. The root cause of the fires has still not been identified. So now all of the lights in these handrails are off and riders are left shaking their heads. I mean it does surprise me its starting on fire but this being a new station you kind of surprised when stuff is breaking already. But a handrail starting on fire was not really in the things you thought would occur. Reporter now, this is an important point to remember here. Metro didnt build the silver line.
