Reigning Olympic champion Ariarne Titmus of Australia smashed the world record as she blazed to victory in a battle royale for the women s 400m freestyle title on the opening day of the swimming events at the World Aquatics Championships on Sunday.
Titmus said her preparation wasn't "the most perfect" coming into this meet, but the key in this star-studded showdown was swimming "free and fearless."
Japan s Daiya Seto became the first swimmer to claim six straight titles in one event at the World Short-course (25m) Championships on Saturday in Melbourne, Australia.Seto, 28, swam a storming breaststroke leg to claim the lead, then powered home with
