And the forces in the soviet union was not during the period that you tend to think is the cold war which is from 19464748 and and much of eisenhowers much of the people in the army who served with him are being framed by the fact that america is one of the coalition of powers that went to war with the communists in the russian civil war. The idea that russia represented an ideological challenge to the United States begins there. The cold war is at its hottest between the United States
