Andy Warhol: A Life in Pop is now on view at the Nassau County Museum of Art. Pop into the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn for the Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop | Works from the Bank of America Collection running through November 7. The exhibit features more than 100 works from the groundbreaking artist. It spans from his earliest paintings to his later screenprints, including two of his most iconic works, the silkscreen paintings of Marilyn Monroe and Campbell s Soup Cans (1962). Warhol’s use of silk screening, printmaking, and photography combined with subject matter drawn from the world of advertising, celebrity, and other pop culture references made him a leader in the Pop art movement. According to the Nassau County Museum of Art’s website, the exhibit is a “deep dive into his career” and “an opportunity to become acquainted with a more personal genius.”

“Vision & Spirit,” which formally opened to the public Friday, has works by creatives with high profiles, like groundbreaking photographer Gordon Parks and artist Romare Bearden, who grew up in Charlotte. And there are photographs and depictions of giants of American history, too, like Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman and Muhammad Ali.

Police in Rochester, New York, confirmed an attempted robbery from an Andy Warhol exhibition at the Memorial Art Gallery (MAG) on Sunday, according to reports.
The museum released a statement: âThe matter is still under investigation and weâre working on putting the pieces together to understand precisely what happened. The artwork in question was not damaged and is safe.â
Among many Warhol thefts, seven of the artist s iconic Campbell s Soup can prints were stolen from Missouri s Springfield Art Museum in 2016.
FAU Libraries faculty and staff worked to create a digital presentation of items from this world-class collection of more than 13,000 books, pamphlets, government publications, newspapers and serials, including rare works from as early as the 16th century.
“The Marvin & Sybil Weiner Spirit of America Collection brings the history of the United States and its founding principles to life,” said Carol Hixson, dean of FAU Libraries. “The ongoing digitization of the collection now makes these rare and unique materials available to researchers and students around the world and reminds us of the hopes and aspirations of our founding fathers.”
The team created a digital collection of Weiner pamphlets. There are currently 585 pamphlets with more being added every day.
