Randomness at best
At just 25 years old, Konduru is an investor at M25, where she sources deals and works closely with founders at the firm s portfolio companies. She joined the firm out of college at University of Illinois, Chicago, in its early years.
Based in Chicago, M25 invests exclusively in software and tech-enabled startups with headquarters in the Midwest. It s one of the most active venture firms between the coasts with more than 100 investments, according to Konduru.
Before she was an investor, Konduru tried to build a following on YouTube. She had a short-lived web series called Hustlepreneur, in which she followed millennial entrepreneurs for a day and vlogged about the experience.
But not everyone is playing to pocket the most capital.
Expensify is readying to go public sometime this year, but its founder David Barrett said he doesn t know how much his company is worth. That s because the expense reporting software-maker hasn t had a private valuation in almost six years, the last time it raised venture capital, and has instead used profit to pay for its own expenses and growth.
It s one of the few profitable businesses on the roster to go public this year. And if it pulls off a direct listing as Barrett plans, Expensify will be one of even fewer companies to raise less than $100 million before going public in 2021.
