CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Dec. 29 (PIA) – The University of Science and Technology of the Southern Philippines (USTP) inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Metals Industry Research and Development Center and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-10 to become the first Metals and Engineering Innovation Center in Mindanao.
The USTP has been chosen together with four other universities in the country as the new Metals and Engineering Innovation Center that aims to strengthen the country’s capacity and capability in the field of metal-working and to enhance competitivel advantage of the metals and engineering industries.
During the virtual signing of the memorandum of agreement, DOST Secretary Fortunato T. De La Peña said the MEICs will play a crucial role in the development of the country and will uplift the status of the countryside.
