Cincinnati man sentenced to 13 years in prison for fentanyl crime, violating supervised release

Michael Anderson, 48, of Cincinnati, was sentenced recently in U.S. District Court to 156 months in prison and a lifetime of supervised release for possessing fentanyl with intent to distribute it. He was also on supervised release in another federal case.

  Jewish Community Night at a Reds game is fast approaching, and we wanted to recognize the important members of our community who will be honored at the game on Tuesday, June 1. Jimmy Miller, a longtime supporter of the Mayerson JCC and the Reds, is sponsoring our third Jewish Community Night at the Reds Game and will be delivering the game ball in the pregame ceremonies. Marty Huidt, President of the JCC, has steered the JCC through the challenges of the Pandemic, will be announcing “Play Ball!”, while Blue Jays Baseball players Elijah Guttman and Mordy Braunstein will be throwing out the first pitch. We will be recognizing Amberley Police and Fire Chief Richard Wallace for his service with the Community Advocate Award, and honoring Shep Englander, CEO of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, for his years of leadership as the game’s honorary captain. 

Police search French Park after report of shots fired

French Park in Amberley Village was temporarily closed Wednesday while police searched for signs of a shooting, officials said. Amberley Village Police responded to the park at around 1 p.m. Wednesday for a report of two shots fired. French Park is a City of Cincinnati park, located in Amberley s jurisdiction. Police say the park was temporarily closed as a precaution. Officers searched on the ground and from the air with the support of the Hamilton County Sheriff s Office s helicopter.  No one was located with a firearm and no one was injured, according to Cincinnati Police. The search was completed and French Park has since reopened to the public, police said at around 4:45 p.m.
