This morning, we spent some time on Prince William parkway. Conditions pretty troublesome early in the morning, but as the day went on, it wasnt that bad. But listen, we tked to some kids this morning because Prince William county schools were closed and they were making the best of the cold weather and the snow. Kids are so lucky, man. Maryland, winchester city, culpeper, stafford, orange, spotsylvania, Prince William, fauquier, rappahannock and king george counties in virginia, all of the School Closings and delays are scrolling on the bottom of your screen. Well bring you the latest as it comes into the newsroom. The cold could impact your commute on the metro. Yesterday a rail cracked near the naylor road station. Metro says something similar could happen again as cracked rail are fairly common with temperatures so low, especial oh aboveground portions of the track. Unfortunately, they say there is no way to avoid that problem. Take a peek outside. You might see snowcovered roads this morning. It looks like this is not going to be a problem for us in the morning, but weve got some rain coming, enough that weve got some flood watches up and there could even be a rumble of thunder tomorrow at the same time we also have Winter Weather advisories off to our west. Its coming from that same storm. Well take another look on radar. This is a huge snowstorm. There is an awful lot of Severe Weather associated with it in addition to big wind, but this is a drought stricken area, so theyre calling that snow white gold even if it has been a lot of work for folks in wichita and ka
