Pat for TS efforts to propel drone ecosystem Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA A senior official in the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation on Friday said that Telangana is creating a robust ecosystem for drone in the country. Joint Secretary Amber Dubey said this while urging stakeholders in the area of drone to focus on creating intelligent algorithms, software and IP since these are poised to play a key role ahead. The official, who was addressing a virtual conference on drones organised by industry body CII, also congratulated the State government on receiving the Ministry approval for conducting experimental delivery of vaccines by drones.

Vaccine delivery: Civil Aviation Ministry grants conditional nod for Telangana govt to try out drones April 30, 2021   The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) has granted conditional exemption from Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Rules, 2021 to Telangana government for conducting experimental delivery of vaccines using drones within the Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) range. Amber Dubey, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, in an order issued today, granted permission to try out drones on experimental basis. The Telangana government has in March 2021 sought an exemption from UAS Rules 2021 for the purpose of trying out drones for delivery of vaccines. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) through an email on April 26, 2021 accorded approval of the Standard Operating procedure (SOP) for trying out drones on experimental basis.

ICMR, Telangana get govt nod to test vaccine delivery through drones April 30, 2021 The Ministry of Civil Aviation granted a conditional exemption from the Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Rules to the Indian Council of Medical Research for conducting a feasibility study of Covid-19 vaccine delivery using drones. The Ministry of Civil Aviation issued an order in this regard earlier this week and said that ICMR had sought exemption from the ministry via an email on February 12. The order signed by joint secretary in the Civil Aviation ministry Amber Dubey said that ICMR has to formulate a standard operation procedure which has to be approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
