Subscriber only AS Ipswich State High School deputy principal Andrew Want looked around the Jets Leagues Club room, he dared to dream this could be the year. After his school s impressive progress in recent Langer Cup seasons, Want was delighted to see such a fine turnout of young footballers preparing for the new season. However, it wasn t only the young men that provided title-winning optimism for the expanded Langer Cup competition kicking off on June 2. It was the ongoing growth of Ipswich State High s girls rugby league program that had Want, principal Simon Riley and the school s dedicated coaching staff excited.

NEW ULM A downtown New Ulm fair trade store and Valentine’s Day card and gift customers helped out the Southern Minnesota Crisis Nursery Wednesday with a $1,221 donation.
“A big thank you,” said Ivy House Director Evan Curtin after the check was passed. New Ulm’s Own, 212 N. MInnesota St. matched donations made by customers who bought cards and gifts created by New Ulm artist/author Amber Collins.

The two large hospital systems in Billings are busy administering nearly 2,000 COVID-19 vaccines this week. The first jabs were met with joy and celebration.
Hundreds of St. Vincent Healthcare frontline workers and a handful of Billings Clinic workers received the Pfizer vaccine on Dec. 15.
