Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State for Tourism, French Nationals Abroad and Francophonie, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is taking part in a video conference today with the teams at our consulates general in Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Washington. He will exchange views with French elected officials in the United States and representatives of the French community. Nearly 150,000 of our compatriots in the U.S. are registered on the list of French citizens living outside of France.
These conversations will deal with the consequences of the Covid-19 epidemic – health, travel, residency conditions in the U.S. – for our community.
Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, participated by video conference in the Second General Assembly of the Sahel Alliance. It brought together, under the presidency of Arancha González Laya, Spain’s Foreign Minister, more than 25 international partners, on the sidelines of the seventh session of the G5 Sahel heads of State summit, the N’Djamena Summit (15 and 16 February 2021).
In the context of the fresh momentum given to stabilization and development, the members of the Sahel Alliance resolutely pledged to concentrate their efforts in a coordinated, targeted way on the most fragile areas in support of the action of the G5 Sahel countries.
