NEW YORK, March 21 ― Amazon.com Inc yesterday said it would axe another 9,000 roles, piling on to a wave of layoffs that has swept the technology sector as an uncertain.
Amazon's latest round of layoffs impacts more teams, though staff from Amazon's People, Experience, and Technology (PXT) organization are again affected. This division comprises Amazon's HR department.
Amazon planned to spend $2.5 billion and hire 25,000 workers by 2030. Amazon is pausing construction for its second headquarters in Virginia, near Washington.
