Venue District expansion initiative advances
The Amarillo-Potter Events Venue District Board of Directors has advanced a resolution that would ultimately result in adding related infrastructure the Venue District would have under its jurisdiction at the Tri-State Fairgrounds and the Amarillo Civic Center. Officials said the action would enable the Venue District to expand the areas where revenue sources can be utilized for repairs, maintenance or minor improvements. The bond counsel, Bob Dransfield, has drafted this resolution, Assistant City Manager Laura Storrs said in addressing the board during its virtual regular session on Monday. What this resolution does is add some additional related infrastructure related to both of the original projects that were approved back in 1998. The next step, if the board so chooses, is to approve this resolution and take a similar resolution to Potter County for approval and then to city council for approval as well. As a reminder
