The strongest was an EF2 that occurred in Happy and made its way towards the Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The second tornado was East of that and hit the Palo Duro Canyon Adventure Park campsite and the State Park area.

Inclement winter weather continues to hit Texas Panhandle As intense winter weather continues to affect cities and towns throughout the Texas Panhandle and throughout the state, entities are continuing to advise against traveling in the weather, which is expected to last into Monday.  According to a release sent out by the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) Sunday morning, blowing snow is expected to cause low visibility, along with hazardous driving conditions.  Blair Johnson, the district engineer for TXDOT Amarillo, said that he discourages travel in these conditions.  “Even though our crews are out, road conditions will continue to deteriorate throughout the day,” Johnson said in the release. “We urge all drivers to stay home until this storm has passed.”
