India is developing its own sizing chart for footwear to fit the "local needs" based on the tarsal, metatarsal, and phalanges structures of Indian feet. The goal for the country is to free itself from dependence on foreign sizes and distinguish Indian footwear products from those of the rest of the world. The chart will be called IndiaSize and will help change the British colonial mindset and end confusion about the correct fit.
