LAS CRUCES – A dozen parents and students gathered at Oñate High School early on Friday morning holding up signs of gratitude to celebrate teachers on the last day of Teacher Appreciation Week.
Teacher Appreciation Week was started by the National PTA to remind the public to thank teachers for their services. I feel like they worked so hard and especially with the pandemic, said Amanita Glover, a sophomore at OHS. I feel like teachers are under appreciated.
Amanita said the transition to in-person school after online learning went well and she was grateful to her teachers, many of whom have become friends.
