Wyatt Cheatham, 17, entered a guilty plea as an adult on a charge of robbery with a firearm on Monday. The plea came with the Oklahoma County District Attorneys Office dropping the murder charge.Sign up for our Newsletters The teenager’s mother, Amanda Totsch, told KOCO 5 that she’s thankful because this is what she and other advocates have been fighting for over the past few months because her son wasn’t the one who pulled the trigger. Still, it’s a bittersweet moment for Totsch.

They said he s not responsible for taking Rodriguez s life. “If my son s going to be charged with murder, so should the ones be that pulled the trigger,” Amanda Totsch, Wyatt Cheatham’s mother, said. According to state law, a person can be charged with murder if another person at the scene dies while they are committing a felony. Totsch said her son is not a killer. She does understand his involvement in the robbery at the gas station, but said the blood is not on his hands.
