OKLAHOMA CITY -
Local advocates are protesting for a teenager charged in connection with the death of 15-year-old Stavian Rodriguez to receive a lesser sentence.
They said he s not responsible for taking Rodriguez s life.
“If my son s going to be charged with murder, so should the ones be that pulled the trigger,” Amanda Totsch, Wyatt Cheatham’s mother, said.
According to state law, a person can be charged with murder if another person at the scene dies while they are committing a felony.
Totsch said her son is not a killer. She does understand his involvement in the robbery at the gas station, but said the blood is not on his hands.
