An old friend is back at the Manitoba Museum.
The Bison Diorama, a longtime favourite display of three bison being charged down by a Métis hunter that has been under wraps for much of 2020, once again greeted visitors when the Main Street landmark opened Thursday morning.
The return of the eye-catching, 15.5-metre work created by Manitoba artist Clarence Tillenius highlights the completion of a four-year, $20.5-million capital renewal project at the museum.
The museum also lifted the curtain on a revamped Prairies Gallery, which had been called the Grasslands Gallery before renovations began in 2019.

If your darling child’s attempts to master French still sound like double Dutch, while their portraits are more Pollock than Picasso, there is a simpler solution to getting them ahead in time for the next round of entrance admissions. So simple, they won’t even need any special equipment, although who doesn’t love the excuse for some new stationery?

As Amanda McLeod celebrated her sweet 16 birthday last week, she wasn’t thinking about herself or the rare auto-immune disease she lives with every day she was thinking of all the other children in need this holiday season.
Instead of asking for gifts for herself, Amanda has made it her goal to raise at least $1,000 for Make A Wish Foundation of WNC by the end of the year.
