Green Local hires treasurer and administrators after staff shuffle

KEY ACTION The Green Local Schools Board of Education hired a treasurer, Erin VanMeter, and also approved Geoffrey Zimmerly as the new Green Middle School/ Smithville High School sixth-12th grade assistant principal.
KEY DISCUSSION The assistant middle school/high school assistant principal position, in which Zimmerly will assist Jenniver Shutt, middle school principal and athletic director, and high school Principal Andy Bratcher, was made possible by a previous administrative switch - Amanda Framstad becoming part-time curriculum director and Lindsey Welch also becoming part-time. Welch had served as director of curriculum and special education and will now take on the sole role of special education.

KEY ACTION The Green Local Schools Board of Education approved administrative changes for the 2021-2022 school year.
KEY DISCUSSION The middle school and high school assistant principal, Amanda Framstad, resigned as of the end of the year, but will fill a different role when the new school year begins in the fall. Framstad will return as a part-time curriculum director, while Lindsey Welch, who has been serving as director of curriculum and special education, will take on the separate special education position. This (change) opened up the assistant principal s job, said Superintendent Dean Frank.
The board also hired a guidance counselor, Katy Smith, for Green Elementary School. She is a licensed counselor who has been an elementary school teacher in Wooster for the prior seven years, said Frank.
