Care home residents meet family members after several weeks

A resident enjoys a visit from her daughter at Rothsay Grange care home For residents at Rothsay Grange care home in Andover, this has been an emotional week. Having not seen their family members for many weeks, the residents finally reunited with their loved ones this week following the relaxation of lockdown rules. Despite the need for testing and social distancing, it was still welcome news for many residents and their family members to be able to meet in the comfort of their bedroom. Residents and their relatives enjoyed getting together and catching up face to face. The current rule says one named visitor is allowed to visit each resident in their bedroom.

Pampering sesh for residents

Residents at Rothsay Grange care home, in Andover recently enjoyed a beauty day at the home courtesy of the activities coordinators, Irene and Leah, who treated the residents to manicures, pedicures, blow dries and beauty treatments. Not just honouring the women residents at the home, the gentlemen residents also enjoyed a pampering. The hospitality team at the home also served a spread of teas and cakes for all to enjoy. Amanda Cussen, general manager at Rothsay Grange Care Home said: “It’s always a lovely treat to be pampered, and our residents deserve it. We do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment at Rothsay as part of the lifestyle enrichment programme for residents, and this one was our most fashionable fun! Living in a care home doesn’t put a stop to celebrating life, and our engaging activities are designed to be enjoyed by all who want to join in.”
