The smell of RoundUp is in the air again. As summer fun abounds, it s hard to resist the temptation of keeping a manicured Kelly-green lawn, beds of perky flowers and well-kept shrubs. And city buildings across Green Bay would be considered an eyesore if left to become overgrown with blossoms, weeds and unruly hedges. But conservationists and environmentalists in Brown County and surrounding areas have been thinking about policies and educational programs to preserve the expensive, 12-year cleanup of the Fox River, and many are looking toward regulating pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers and other chemical-rich agriculture products that have long devastated natural ecosystems.
