Match report: LFC Women 1-2 Leicester City
Chris Shaw Liverpool FC Women were beaten 2-1 by FA Women s Championship leaders Leicester City at Prenton Park on Sunday.
Missy Bo Kearns had provided a 10th-minute opener for the Reds, who were led by interim manager Amber Whiteley following the departure of Vicky Jepson earlier this week.
Natasha Flint restored parity for Leicester with a penalty shortly before the interval, however, and Liverpool then had to play the entire second half with 10 players after Melissa Lawley was sent off within seconds of her introduction.
The home side held firm for much of the remainder but were denied anything to show for their efforts when Charlie Devlin rifled in from the edge of the box nine minutes from the end.

Leicester City stayed one point ahead of Durham at the top of the FA Women’s Championship table after they both had important pre-Christmas wins.

Leicester City still lead the Championship table following a 3-2 success at Blackburn Rovers, where Natasha Flint scored twice.

The Liverpool Women traveled to London today to take on the London City Lionesses. The Reds were opening the game in third place in the table, hoping to keep pace with Leicester City and Durham. Unfortunately, it was one of those games where it was not being streamed live, so we will have take some.liberties with the write up.
With the team hard hit injuries (it is a Liverpool club after all), there weren’t too many questions about the starting line up. Meikayla Moore retained her starting spot in central defense in favor of Leighanne Robe. Amalie Thustrup came back to start as the point striker with Ashley Hodson out with an injury sustained against Crystal Palace. Match report: London City Lionesses 0-1 Liverpool FC Women Meikayla Moore s first goal for Liverpool FC Women saw them earn a 1-0 victory away at London City Lionesses on Sunday afternoon.
The New Zealand international, a summer arrival from German side MSV Duisburg, secured the three points for the Reds with her 31st-minute finish.
With Leicester City and Durham also securing victories on Sunday, Vicky Jepson s side remain third in the FA Women s Championship standings.

The visitors made a strong start to the contest and created a number of goalscoring opportunities in the first half, with Rinsola Babajide continually testing the Lionesses backline.
