On Saturday, April 24, Ambassador Michael McCarthy delivered the keynote address at the Liberia Medical Students’ Association (LMSA) 48th Inauguration Ceremony. The event took place at the A.M. Dogliotti College of Medicine (AMDCM). He was joined by University of Liberia President Dr. Julius Nelson, Vice President for Health Sciences Dr. Bernice Dahn, AMCDCM Dean Dr. Lawrence Sherman, LMSA President Diafei Giddings, and others.

MONROVIA As a result of its quality health delivery to Liberians foreign nationals within the territorial confines of the country and neighboring countries, the Jackson F. Doe (JFD) Referral Hospital has been awarded as the ‘Best Referral Hospital of the Year’ by an independent health organization under the banner The I-Help Liberia Medical Incorporated.
The organization, I-Help Liberia Medical Incorporated, is a Liberian based not-for-profit organization operated by graduates and former students of the A. M. Dogliotti College of Medicine who, over the course of their stay in the Medical School, were supported by the I-Help Liberia Project.

MONROVIA – Researchers at the University of Liberia, the University of Michigan and the University of Ghana, are working together to ensure that expectant mothers in Liberia have a safer childbirth experience through the connective power of WhatsApp. The researchers said during emergencies, cesarean sections, also known as C-Sections can be a life-saving procedure, in areas with poor access to surgical facilities; moms and babies remain at risk.
Owing it to the fact that Liberia has one of the highest maternal and infant mortality rates in the world, COVID has made access to maternity wards even more difficult due to strict transportation bans, closed health facilities and reassigned staff.
