Police were investigating a shooting in northern San Jose that injured two people Monday afternoon.
San Jose police officers responding to reports of shots fired found one male victim and one female victim near Trinity Park Drive and North First Street, police said. The shooting took place near Alviso Park, a playground and recreation area close to the San Jose marina.
The victims’ names have not been released. The man sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds, while the woman has non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Police complained that a media helicopter hovering over the scene Monday interfered with officers’ operations on the ground following the shooting.
