Granite City man faces cruelty charge, allegedly hit cat with bat Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail EDWARDSVILLE A Granite City man has been charged with felony cruelty to animals after striking a cat with a baseball bat and giving it a fractured skull. Michael R. Bush, 38, was charged Feb. 3 with aggravated cruelty to animals, a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department. According to court records, on Dec. 9 Bush struck Marley, a cat, with a baseball bat, causing the cat to suffer a fractured skull. Bail was set at $53,000.
