The Florida Department of Health in Lee County has issued its fifth health alert this year, four of which have been due to blue-green algae in the Caloosahatchee River.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is sending more water from Lake Okeechobee our way starting this weekend. The Army Corps said they're trying to get ahead of the rainy season with these more moderate releases now.
