A maskless Florida man was charged with disorderly conduct after police say he purposefully coughed, spit and sneezed while walking through a Best Buy.
According to police records, 51-year-old Alton Ashby visited the Best Buy in Vero Beach on Saturday without wearing a mask to get some help from the Geek Squad.
When Ashby approached the counter, he was repeatedly asked to put on a mask by employees, but refused to comply, arrest records show.

VERO BEACH, Fla. â A Florida man is accused of coughing, sneezing and spitting inside a Best Buy in Vero Beach after he was asked to put on a mask.
According to the Indian River County Sheriff s Office, Alton Ashby, 51, approached the Geek Squad counter maskless and was asked by an employee to put on a mask.

Ashby refused, police say. Instead, according to an arrest affidavit, Ashby proceeded to “cough, sneeze and spit” all over the counter and around the store. “We had customers leave due to the incident and we have to now sanitize all of Geek Squad and [sic] home department,” Steve Abidin, a Best Buy employee, told the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office following the incident. The 51-year-old Palm Bay resident eventually left, only to be pulled over by police and arrested for disorderly conduct.
