20-year-old Lenny Martinez of Groupama-FDJ is the new leader of the Tour of Spain. The Frenchman was part of a breakaway of 42 riders who spent more than 100 km in the lead. Martinez finished second in the stage, 26 seconds behind Sepp Kuss (Jumbo-Visma) The defending champion, the Belgian Remco Evenepoel, was left behind in the group. Primoz Roglic, three-time winner of the Vuelta, placed the first attack 4km from the finish, joined by his Danish teammate Jonas Vingegaard.
