Although Fijian-Australian Sitiveni Talei has been surrounded by music his whole life he never thought he d have a career in it, until the Opera came calling. [My] childhood in Fiji was full of music, every evening the guitars pop out. [but] coming from Fiji this whole concept of being a paid musician was very foreign to me, he said.
He moved to Canberra, Australia as a child and while at university applied and won a prestigious Opera scholarship which saw him study in Israel, the United States, and Europe.
