Police are appealing for witnesses.
Police are looking for witnesses following the despicable street robbery close to the bus stop at Fergleen Park in Galliagh.
The incident happened at around 2pm today, Saturday.
A PSNI spokesperson said: A male in his 40s wearing a black beanie hat, black top and bottoms wearing a face mask has grabbed a brown wallet from the hands of an elderly lady while pushing her to the ground.
