SAN RAMON — The mayors of five Tri-Valley cities agree that the biggest challenge right now is building enough affordable housing, while also complying with the state’s stringent construction mandates.
Two groups have teamed up in a lawsuit to stop development of the Valley Link commuter light rail system, which proposes to connect the Dublin-Pleasanton BART Station and the planned ACE North Lathrop Station.
The five mayors of the Tri-Valley came together Thursday for their annual Mayors Summit where they discussed individual and collaborative projects going on within the region as well as their visions for the future.
Local officials said the $20 million specified in the federal Surface Transportation Reauthorization Act of 2021 would help make Valley Link a national model of environmental sustainability.
