Ryanair CEO About the Events in the Sky Over Belarus: It s a State-Sponsored Hijacking

The head of the Irish company Ryanair, Michael O Leary, commented on the hijacking of his company aircraft by the Belarusian authorities. In contrast to the previous statement of the company, which did not refer to the military aircraft, launched by Lukashenka, the comment of the Ryanair CEO was more radical: - The decision of the Belarusian authorities to force a Ryanair plane to land in Minsk on Sunday and detain a journalist was a state-sponsored hijacking. This was a case of state-sponsored hijacking… state-sponsored piracy. It appears the intent of the authorities was to remove a journalist and his travelling companion. We believe there were some KGB agents offloaded at the airport as well .

The Prosecutor General s Office of Poland Opened Case in Connection with the Ryanair Airplane Hijacking

Prosecutor General of Poland Zbigniew Ziobro ordered to initiate a criminal case over the Ryanair plane hijacking in Minsk. The Polish Prosecutor General says the Belarusian authorities might have used deception and threats to seize control over the aircraft, reports rmf.fm. We shall remind that Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called the hijacking over Minsk an act of state terrorism. The Prosecutor General s Office of Lithuania has also launched an investigation into the Ryanair plane. As a reminder, yesterday Lukashenka ordered to launch a military helicopter and a fighter jet to force the landing of the Ryanair plane, which was flying from Athens to Vilnius. Also Belarusian air traffic controllers reported an alleged bomb on board. The plane landed in Minsk. There was journalist Raman Pratasevich on board; he and his girlfriend were detained.
