Alonzo Brooks death has been determined as a homicide after his body was exhumed and subjected to another autopsy.
Brooks death was reported more than 16 years ago. But a new probe has unfolded as federal authorities investigate his death as a possible hate crime, according to an Associated Press report.
Based on the new autopsy, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) concluded that Brooks death was a homicide. This new examination by a team of the world s best forensic pathologists and experts establishes it was no accident. Alonzo Brooks was killed. According to the FBI, the new autopsy found injuries to Brooks’s body that aren’t consistent with normal decomposition.
“We knew that Alonzo Brooks died under very suspicious circumstances,” Slinkard said in a statement. “This new examination by a team of the world’s best forensic pathologists and experts establishes it was no accident. Alonzo Brooks was killed. We are doing everything we can, and will spare no resources, to bring those responsible to justice.”
The FBI announced they were investigating Brooks’s death as a possible hate crime in 2019, and in June 2020, the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Kansas issued a press release offering some insight into what led investigators to pursue this new direction.
