Alma Street Veterinary Hospital owner Dr Greg Muir has revealed it was a childhood pet â a cat named Bubbles â that helped shape his career.
âShe was a little stray that came our way and she was one of the reasons I became a vet,â he explains.
âI was pretty close to her, she slept on my bed, but she had a few health issues.
âThat was one of the things that formed my way.â
Bubbles went on to live a long and happy life; Greg went on to study veterinary science at Sydney University, graduating with first-class honours in 1990.
Dr Muir moved to Rockhampton to work in a mixed practice before moving to England to take up a position at a small animal practice for two years.
