Indiana COVID vaccine: Purdue community highly interested, per survey

WEST LAFAYETTE – A large majority of respondents to a survey conducted by the Purdue COVID-19 Vaccine Allocation Task Force indicated that they are interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine when eligible to do so, based on results released by the university on Monday. The survey, which was conducted between Feb. 23 to March 5, had more than 26,700 responses from Purdue students, faculty and staff connected to the West Lafayette campus. Overall, 80% of respondents reported they have either already received the COVID-19 vaccine or plan to do so once eligible. The survey reported that 10% of respondents were undecided. During the time the survey was conducted, 74% of respondents reported they were not yet eligible to receive the vaccine under guidelines by the Indiana State Department of Health. Of those not yet eligible, 92% of that group indicated in the survey that they would get the vaccine once eligible.
