The city’s survey on parking is available online at
https://letstalk.kamloops.ca/parking until midnight on Sunday, March 14. The parking review is being undertaken by the City of Kamloops, Blunt & Associates and Allnorth Engineering. Information revealed on Thursday was based on 208 responses to the survey to date. Mike Furuya, project manager with Blunt & Associates, noted there are 214 on-street spaces along the Tranquille Corridor, an area that runs along Tranquille Road from Fortune Drive to the Tranquille Road overpass. Those stalls have two-hour parking limits, Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Based on a count conducted on Dec. 9, 2020, at noon, 116 (55 per cent) of those 214 spots were occupied, while 98 (45 per cent) spots were empty.
