That’s according to
a 43-page report released Tuesday by the Des Plaines Fire Department that provides a timeline and video of the city’s response to the blaze at 714 W. Oakton St.

A Des Plaines alderman is calling for a full and comprehensive report on the fire that left four children and their mother dead last week.
During Monday s council meeting, 5th Ward Alderman Carla Brookman said she wants details about the overall fire department response to last Wednesday s blaze at a residential building in the 700 block of West Oakton Street, including if there were any problems with equipment or manpower.

Funerals for a woman and four children killed in a Des Plaines fire this week will be private, and details of the arrangements won t be released to the public, officials announced Friday.
No public vigils or memorials are planned, either, Des Plaines spokeswoman Jennie Vana said.
